Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study nsfas 2025 in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study nsfas check in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for nsfas login matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
